What affects local rankings?

Google’s local algorithm

Google uses three defining principles when it assesses why to rank a business for a consumer’s local search. Our guide goes into more detail.
  • Proximity: How close is the business to the searcher, or the area they have defined?
  • Relevance: How relevant is the business to the consumer’s search?
  • Prominence: How well-known or trusted is the business in the community or industry?
