ABOUT

Coverage Creatives is a full-service, AI-first marketing agency that works with one industry only: insurance. Founded 18 months ago, the team has grown to 11 people looking after 10 insurance agency clients.

They work at large scale, publishing between 700 and 1,000 social posts a month, and building client websites that run to more than 1,000 pages each. Everything the agency does is built on its own platform, with BrightLocal data feeding the local side of it.

CHALLENGE

Winning local visibility in a high-competition industry

Insurance is a tough category for local search. In any 20-mile area, hundreds of agents chase the same handful of searches, and there are words the agency simply can’t use due to industry terminology. That removes most of the usual shortcuts and leaves two places to win: the client's own website and their Google Business Profile.

Andrew Longron, Founder, Coverage Creatives, says:

"Our clients need to win on their websites and in Google Business Profile, so every decision we make needs solid local data behind it."

At Coverage Creatives, that local data can't come from guesswork or spot checks. The team needed a reliable source of local ranking and Google Business Profile data that their platform could run on, without building their own tool on top of Google or hitting a wall every time they scaled up.

SOLUTION

Combining the BrightLocal MCP and API for strategic insights and automated data delivery

Coverage Creatives uses the BrightLocal MCP and the BrightLocal API together, each doing a different job.

The MCP is where the team works out what data they actually need. They pull Local Search Grid rankings and Google Business Profile Audit snapshots, then combine that local picture with their own website keyword data to decide which blog posts to write for each client.

"That was a lot easier than trying to build our own tools on top of Google."

Once the team knows what they need, the API delivers it at scale. It feeds consistent, structured data into the agency's own platform, which runs on it day-to-day. When a client's rankings drop, the platform flags it, pulls the BrightLocal data, and hands the team a starting point so one of the team can make the final call.

"The MCP helps us work out what data we need. Then the API gives us reliable, consistent data our systems can run on."

RESULTS

Unmatched API stability at scale, data-driven content decisions, and lower overall costs

  • An integration that holds up at scale. Coverage Creatives hits rate limits on other APIs regularly. With BrightLocal, the team hasn't had a single issue.
  • Content decisions backed by local data. Local Search Grid and Google Business Profile data sit alongside the agency's keyword data, so every blog post written for a client is chosen for a reason.
  • Lower cost than the alternative. BrightLocal works out to be more affordable than Semrush, which was charging the agency $60 for every local connection.
  • Room to grow into. The team plans to integrate more of the MCP as the agency expands.

Andrew says: "We work at serious scale. I hit rate limits on some APIs all the time. With BrightLocal, integration has been smooth, and I haven't had a single issue. The MCP offers everything we need, and we'll be integrating more of it as we grow."

"BrightLocal's documentation is great, and I really like the training courses. I just hired a dedicated BrightLocal assistant, and they're working through the courses right now. Good documentation solves a lot of problems."

"What matters most to me as an agency owner is that BrightLocal talks to its users. They reached out, listened, and want to make the product better. I'll gladly pay for software that comes with that kind of human connection. As more tools start to do the same thing, the companies that come out ahead will be the ones that talk with their users. BrightLocal does, and I'm not going anywhere."
