I connected with Portfolio Creative's Derik Abbott earlier this summer and he facilitated me to my current employer with tact, precision and a good eye for both organization and the employee alike. It was a superb process and Lish at Portfolio Creative is great too. I absolutely recommend!

I connected with Portfolio's Derik Abbott earlier this year and within two weeks, he had found me a perfect opportunity as a free-lance video producer. Lish has been great, too. The on-boarding process with Portfolio was very smooth. As my employer, they are super friendly and helpful. And I get paid weekly. Thank you, Portfolio!!

I love being a freelance graphic designer with Portfolio Creative. I’ve been working with them since 2018, and they’ve placed me in two really incredible opportunities - one being the absolute best job and best team I’ve ever experienced. Everyone at the Portfolio team I’ve encountered has always been so helpful and warm, and I feel they have been such a valuable partner to have in my design career. So grateful!

Upon initial contact, staff responded quickly and cordially. I was greeted in a friendly, attentive manner by two people when I entered their office, and the recruiter who met with me was a nice enough. However I assess recruiters based on how they conduct and end meetings, and then follow up on what was discussed, not how nice they are on the surface. First strike: When I asked about a couple of agencies in the area, the recruiter had absolutely no idea who I was talking about. She couldn't even spell their names correctly, even though they weren't difficult words. While I certainly wouldn't expect recruiters to know every single agency in existence, I'd expect them to know a least the major ones in their state -- the two I mentioned are sizable international agencies that are among the very few in-state belonging to one of the Big Four advertising holding companies. A reputable creative recruiter should know those. Second strike: The recruiter did not walk me out. Granted the exit was near the meeting room, but every recruiter I have visited domestically or internationally has walked me to threshold of the door and made a point of saying goodbye in a conscientious, unrushed way. This recruiter stopped a short distance outside the room and practically walked away as we shook hands, literally pulling her hand out of mine as fast as she could. I've never experienced this from a professional before, and it left a really negative impression. Third strike: ZERO follow-up. I never heard from them again. I fully understand that recruiters care only about money and their clients, and that they do not work for candidates, no matter what they say. However every recruiter I've met face to face has sent at least one e-mail after the first meeting to acknowledge what was discussed, and that they will contact me with relevant opportunities. This may just be a cursory e-mail, but it shows they put some modicum of thought into candidates after the meeting. I drove more than an hour to visit Portfolio Creative, which the woman I met was fully aware of. The minimal expected professional courtesy is to be... professional.

I had to put in a lot of work into finding a job, but having Portfolio Creative support me helped turned my journey into a dream job. Not only has the entire team always been there for me to support me with but they have helped with resume reviews, mock interview, and ideas on how to grow my network. I would recommend anyone to check them out and take advantage of the assistance they provide in order to land your dream job, i know i did!
